The grappa: an entirely Italian aquavitae
The only aquavitae in the world, which can be labeled with name "Grappa", is obtained when the grape marc (what is left over from wine making: specifically the skins and seeds of grapes) comes from and are distilled in Italy. The European Union has protected of this product: only the aquavitae produced in Italy has the brand Grappa.The grappa is therefore a entirely Italian product, for origin, tradition and culture.
An unique and precious distillate.
The rigid selection of the grape marc and its limited origin at the national territory has the consequece that the grape marc destined to the production of Grappa are less than a third of the total quantity. Because of this, is the grappa an aquavitae with the highest quality, and therefore extremely precious. The Grappas of Lake Garda are obtained by the distillation of the grape marc of the homonym vines.

Naturally, like for the wines their goodness vary from producer to producer depending from the quality of dregs.
Very rich and appreciated the enormous variety of grappas of the three regions berdering on the Lake Garda: we only remember the grappas from Franciacorta, the grappas of the zone of Valdobbiadene as well as the grappas from Trentino and South Tyrol.
