The arena in Verona is the third one in order of greatness, only preceded from the Colosseum and from the amphitheater of Capua. This imposing Roman amphitheater probably built around the I century b.C. rises in the heart of the city and had the purpose to offer to the spectators big exhibitions of struggles among gladiators and fights among wild beasts. Today it is instead theater of the Lyric Opera, from Verdi to Sheakspeare. It was really the prose of Sheakspeare to make immortal the stormy love story between Romeo and Juliet. The Balcony of Juliet is still today, to distance of centuries, the destination of fans, curious persons and of persons in love of all the world.
