Naturalistic excursion which explores the 2 sides of the Monte Baldo:
- the alpine one
- the lacustrine one
Lenght: about 140 Km
By car up to Torbole, continue in direction of Rovereto. When we are in Mori we turn in direction of Brentonico. In Brentonico we find the Museum of the Fossil of the Monte Baldo, which is in the Renaissance building Eccheli-Baisi of Brentonico. The expositive route have been divided in 40 showcases and six rooms, one of which entirely devoted to the interpretation of fossils in the history: from the myth to the scientific knowledge. We continue in direction of S. Valentino and we take the hold road which reach the Monte Baldo. Now the beauty of the alpine environment appears to ours eyes in its full sourness and magnificence. We can stop at the refuge on the road (Rifugio Graziani), or park and go up the impervious trail

which reach the top of the M. Altissimo (halt. 2060 meters) where we find the Refuge Altissimo "D. Chiesa" (opening: 20 June - 20 September). Continuing on the road of the Monte Baldo we meet the place Bocca di Navene (halt. 1425 meters), where there is another refuge in panoramic position on the Lake Garda. 600 meters forwards, there is the crossroads with the stony road (ca. 3 Kms) which reaches the arrival-station of cableway (halt. 1752 meters) Malcesine-Monte Baldo. Our trip continues southward where we meet the high in level-pasturelands, with many factories. We can stop at the factory Malga Prà Alpesina to taste and to purchase its special cheeses. We continue in direction of Ferrara di Monte Baldo and Caprino Veronese driving through many other pasturelands. In about 30 kms we reach the city of Garda. We continue in direction of Torri where we can catch the ferry which brings to Maderno or drive in direction of Malcesine.
